Our Story

Our Founder

Our story begins with our founder, Wayne Doyle, who became passionate about jewellery at the age of 10. One day in his homeland of Ireland, Wayne was gazing in the windows of a jewellery establishment. He became mesmerized with beautiful designs and quality of jewellery. It was at that moment Wayne decided that his life’s ambitions were to seek out the internal workings of the jewellery industry.

At age of sixteen Wayne started his training as a Gold and Silversmith from the highly acclaimed Vak School in the Netherlands. After Wayne was awarded his craftsmanship he relocated to Australia. Quickly his skills and abilities were requested and he spent numerous years servicing the jewellery industry through various aspects.

Wayne works personally with clients and other jewellery professionals achieving his life’s ambitions. His work has won multiple awards at the prestige Nationwide Jewellery competition in Australia.

The Life Of Wayne Doyle

At the age of ten, the earliest memory of Wayne was looking into a jewelry store window and being captivated. As a child, he would never pass a jewellery store without looking inside.

At the age of twelve, Wayne received his first piece of jewellery: a 14ct yellow and white gold figaro bracelet given to him by his parents. This was the beginning of his constantly changing jewelry collection.

At the age of fifteen, a high school teacher suggested that Wayne visit De Vak-School to see if it would be of interest to him. To this day, Wayne still remembers the big smile on his face when the suggestion was made. As soon as he became interested in the school, he fell in love with the idea of making jewellery. Wayne was the first student in the history of his high school to enter into the jewellery trade.

He was one of only seven people out of over thirty students to pass the exam. These exams only happen once a year, so if one failed they had to wait to resit Later on that year Wayne moved to Perth, Australia and began working for a jewellery company.

In 2008, Wayne moved to Brisbane and started working for himself out of his parents' garage. This was where Red Cloud Jewels was born.
